Text Box: the first graders will experience Block Fest. This is a special time for pre-school through first graders to have an opportunity at separate stations to explore, build, and communicate about creating with different kinds of blocks. Then on May 16th, the first graders will take their final field trip to Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville. The students will be able to observe close up some of the animals that live in the Pacific Northwest areas and learn about their habitat.
Text Box: There are several special events that the first graders will have the opportunity to experience this spring. One event took place last week when the first graders had a chance to design a special craft project. Suzanne Love,  a local stained glass artist, took half the class at a time and gave them instruction and help in creating their own items from pieces of stained glass. While half the class was working with stained glass, the other half went out to the greenhouse and discovered all the new plants that have been Text Box: One of the major goals of the Grapeview School District is to develop a comprehension facilities plan to address the future educational needs of the district. A citizens’ committee, representative of community members, parents and staff, was formed to study the facility issues. The task of the Text Box: Grapeview Community Preschool has started registration for the 2008-2009 school year. Our preschool provides a supervised program for children ages 3 to 5 years (age 3 by Aug 31 and toilet trained) that helps them to grow socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.
Classes are 3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Text Box: Thursday, 9 to 11:15 am and we are located within the Grapeview School (although not part of the district). To register, parents need to fill out registration and immunization forms, as well as pay a $45.00 registration
 fee. Tuition is $70.00 pr month; parents help is an important part of a

Started by other classes at the school. The students also planted some sweet pea seeds and marigold seeds in their first grade “garden plot”. Over the next few weeks they will check on the seeds periodically to see if they start growing. All the first graders observed how much warmer it felt in the greenhouse than outside. They were impressed how well solar heating can work!

Kindergarten Registration

 

Kindergarten registration is now open. Kindergartners must be five by August 31. You will need a birth certificate to show proof of age and a current shot record. If you have any questions please stop by the office or call 426-4921/275-4921.

Lost and found

Three big boxes are sitting on the stage full of lost items. Please check to see if your child is missing any items; coats, sweatshirts, jeans, shirts or lunch boxes!!
