World Geography 7th Grade
This year students will be learning about the five themes of geography: location, place, human/environment interaction, movements, and regions. As we study each continent and country they will learn more than just history. Students will learn about the cultures, languages, types of governments, climates, natural resources, physical characteristics, populations, imports/exports, and how these countries connect with the “Global World of Today”. This week we are starting a new unit on South America. We will be studying the Andean Countries.
Pre Algebra 7th & 8th Grade
In this class your child will be preparing for algebra next year. The textbook we will be using is Transition Mathematics. It reviews what students already know and reinforces that understanding. We have been learning about the algebraic terminology, symbols, expressions, and how to perform algebraic operations. This week we are actually getting into solving some equations and operations that are real algebra.
Life Skills
We are learning about real life money management this trimester. Once we get setup we will be spending about 10 minutes a day managing our finances. We will also be doing some mechanical drawing, learning about some of the construction trades, maybe some mechanical repairs, and on Fridays work on individual hobbies.
