All of the band students should be practicing most days, if not every day.

 Band Contract:

 Ø      Band students (4^th, 5^th, 6^th) must maintain a C- or above in their core classes in order to participate.

Ø      Students with late work and/or low grades will be working in their classrooms on their work until caught up.

Ø      Missing more than 3 days of band per Trimester for any of the following reasons may result in loss of the opportunity to participate in band permanently.

o       Late work and/or low grades

o       Forgetting your instrument/music  (does not include instruments in the repair shop)

o       Inappropriate behavior in band class (and in some cases, anywhere in school)

  Ø      Band students participate in (at least) one evening concert (near the end of 2^nd Trimester) and perhaps 1-2 school day concerts.  I do not anticipate any parades this year.

Ø      Band students need to practice at home.  One to two hours a week is recommended.  Practice time is part of the student’s grade, along with participation, learning the skills, and effort.
